Thank you for your excellent scientific approach. Nicely done. I always scuff sand and prime. The takeaway for me was there is no difference worth worrying about between the Krylon or Rustoleum products from the standpoint of wear. That being said, color hue preference is all I need to consider between those two products. Thanks again.

Flat sand using 800/1000 and Polish using compound and drill with mop like the do on cars for high gloss.

I LOVE that color 💚 Always thought the wax went on, wipe excess off (if using antiquing/black/white, leave some in details), then wait 1-2 hours and buff…I’ve buffed too early and have taken too much wax and paint off.

I have one of those kitchen tables that has the white tiles the light wood along the edge. What can I do with it? I don’t want to get rid of it because it was from my mom.

Been spraying paint for 20+ years and recently purchased the home right super finish max, for the price point hard to beat when set up properly.

I used Zinsser BIN shellac primer, rolled on, after sanding even, and it still scratched off with a nail... which I'm really confused by. Not only did I use the "better" primer you mentioned, I also sanded just in case... any ideas why?

Do you have any tips for painting because I bought the same brush and similar paints but mine looks a bit more streaky

Loved your video! However, I'm not thrilled with the idea of using wax. Since it's been some time now, I have two questions. Are you still happy with your project after using the wax? And what are your thoughts about using RIT's paint fixative instead?

Annoyingly, this video appears in every search on how to paint drawer pulls WITHOUT removing them. Sadly, the previous owner of the dresser unit I have decided to glue the knobs in place as well as screwing, hence they are attached to the wooden fascia and CAN'T be removed without damage. If I could remove them, anyone can paint them!

PRECISELY what I was looking for! I'm building a gate as a gift for my lovely neighbour using a couple of old bed frame slats I found in the street. The wood is still really good and strong. Why did you paint the inside of drawers with a brush vs sprayer?

I've been agonizing over this for months since I bought a house where my nightstands don't fit. I didn't think about the possibility that the middle part [mine isn't a drawer] leaving notches in the sides. I am afraid to ruin something in great shape but I don't have room for it and nightstands are expensive [and poor quality] This is a great video!

If i may humbly suggest, try to keep your spray gun tip the same distance from what you're painting throughout the entire process. Any pivoting that you do with your wrist is going to cause some spots to have a thicker coating. As you pivot your wrist left or right , it changes distance of gun tip from the dresser. Replay your video and try to spot it. It's always recommended to keep gun tip the same distance from what your painting, only using your arm as the point of movement solely.

Question: when I spray I get splatter, that gives me texture. How to fix this?? Thanks!

Rustoleum protective enamel for the win. From watching the scratch test, the rust oleum protective enamel with bin shellac didn't scratch at all but I can literally see the scratches with the Behr paint. I've used Behr paint and it didn't hold up as well as the Rustoleum 2x. Rustoleum 2x doesn't even come close to Rustoleum protective enamel.

You never want your stipper to dry out.

I have a question. I have a Walmart industrial tv stand that I’m thinking of painting white. Of course it’s made with particle board and looks like wood. So a darker color with a metal frame. I want it to look rustic though and I don’t have much experience with this stuff. Should I sand it lightly, put a white primer on, paint white and distress with antiquing wax or can I use a dark primer, paint white and then distress with sandpaper? Or do you have a completely different suggestion?

If you are going to use a spray bomb buy the pistol grip handle for better spray control. Trust me on this. I am an old man with oodles of experience. ;)

It's very nice. It almost appears a milky white color to me and not gray..but then again it could be my eyes.
